KrX PD-13 Acne Therapy

Say goodbye to active acne, inflammation and help prevent further breakouts.

Photodynamic Therapy, or PDT, is a type of treatment that uses a topical preparation that is applied to the skin. This solution is activated by red 633nm wavelength LED. The topical PD-13 solution contains Methyl Aminolevulinate HCl, which works with, and is activated by LED Phototherapy.

This treatment can be combined with microneedling and peels to get to the root cause of acne and deliver results.

PD-13 is absorbed into the oil glands of the skin, allowing the red light to target this area specifically.

This results in less oil production, reduction in acne-causing bacteria, less inflammation, improvement in redness and active acne, and prevention of further acne recurrence.

KrX PD-13 can treat moderate to severe Acne, Actinic Keratosis and Rosacea

  • The treatment involves a deep cleanse to prepare your skin barrier.

    The PD-13 solution is applied to the skin and then covered with a towel - this is to prevent any light from affecting the treatment. The towel remains in place for approximately 20 minutes and is then removed, with your face being cleansed again.

    The red LED is then placed over your skin for the final step of the treatment.

    We also recommend a prior consult with our therapist to ensure your skin is ready, and your the right candidate, to get the best results from treatment.

  • DURING TREATMENT + IMMEDIATELY AFTER

    Mild stinging may occur during treatment and this is normal. Skin may look red after treatment, and peeling may also occur.

    AFTERCARE:

    • Do not exfoliate for 7 days post treatment

    • Avoid heat. Refrain from exercising, saunas, hot showers for 48 hours

    • Protect your skin. Stay out of the sun, and protect the skin by applying moisturiser and SPF daily

  • We recommend a series of 2-3 treatments spaced by 4-6 weeks between treatments, for best results.

    • Pregnant and breastfeeding women

    • Patients with skin cancer

    • Patients with auto immune diseases.

    • Known sensitivity to methyl aminolevulinate or any component of the formulation, including peanut and almond oil (has not been tested in patients with peanut allergy).

Microneedling

  • Using a series of controlled microneedle injuries to the skin, microneedling can help improve acne scarring, skin texture, enlarged pores and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

  • We recommend a series of 3-6 sessions, spaced apart by 4 weeks for best results.

    Microneedling can be combined with PD-13 treatment, BioRePeel Cl3 and other medical peels to target your specific acne concerns.

    Microneedling is best suited to skin’s struggling with textural changes, scarring and pigmentation.

BioRePeel Cl3

  • BioRePeel Cl3 is a complete solution designed to target acne and congestion in the skin, prevent further breakouts and treat acne scarring, enlarged pores and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

    It uses a unique formulation of 6 acids, with the feature ingredient of 35% Trichloroacetic acid, plus antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids.

    This works as a medium-deep depth peel WITHOUT any downtime, post-treatment peeling or the need for any changes to your social life.

  • We recommend 3-4 sessions, spaced apart by 7-10 days for maximum results.

    We also combine BioRePeel with microneedling, in the same session. This further enhances the beneficial effect of both treatments.

Morpheus8

  • Morpheus8 is a radio-frequency microneedling treatment that delivers heat into the skin to remodel and rebuild collagen, and resurface the skin.

    This treatment is a step up from regular microneedling, and the addition of radio-frequency is 8-10 times more effective at enhancing remodelling of acne scars, skin texture and the appearance of pores.

  • We recommend 3 sessions, spaced apart by 4-6 weeks.

    In cases of more severe scarring we may recommend our deeper, more powerful treatment - Morpheus DEEP. This treatment is only delivered by our cosmetic doctor.
