Our state-of-the-art Deka Punto CO2 laser is considered the ‘gold-standard’ in dermal resurfacing lasers. The Punto utilises the CO2 wavelength to perform the traditional SmartXide DOT Therapy as well as DEKA’s newest offering, the ‘CoolPeel’.

DOT CO2 Treatment

DOT Therapy delivers a CO2 laser beam divided into thousands of microscopic treatment zones (Dots) that target a fraction of the skin at a time. These treatments zones cause thermal damage to underlying collagen and elastin, to stimulate the production of new fibres. The ability to ‘fractionate’ the laser allows quicker healing times, lower risks of side effects and less downtime for the patient than traditional fully ablative laser.

Conditions we commonly treat with DOT treatment:

  • Sun damage

  • Acne scarring

  • Seborrheic keratosis (age spots)

  • Surgical scars

  • Wrinkling and loss of elastic tissue

Dependent on what condition is being treated, an initial course of 1-3 treatments is recommended. For sun damage, rejuvenation and anti-aging effects, usually an annual maintenance treatment is required for the benefits to be maintained.

How does CoolPeel CO2 work?

CO2 lasers are the gold standard in treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other blemishes as well as tighten skin and balance tone. Damaged skin tissue is removed, or ablated, stimulating new collagen production and heat energy is delivered to tighten the skin. However, the heat energy delivered to the skin with a standard CO2 treatment often results in considerable downtime and risk while damaged skin heals.

Many advances have been made to improve the side effects of CO2 treatments but ONLY the CoolPeel® can deliver a fractional ablative treatment without the downtime.

There is minimal risk of hyperpigmentation, demarcation or induced infection.

Our CoolPeel Protocol:

  • Firstly your skin is cleaned before treatment. We recommend a full face treatment for complete rejuvenation, although treatment can be tailored to your specific concerns.

    Fine lines and crepey skin around the eyes and mouth can be targeted - these are commonly requested areas.

    Other treatment areas can include the chest, arms and hands.

    We recommend 3-5 treatments, 4 weeks apart for best results.

    We are able to offer this with the Deka SmartXide Punto CO2 - this is the gold-standard in CO2 laser resurfacing treatments, offering more intensive treatments where required.

  • All laser and cosmetic treatments carry a degree of risk, which is why we ensure all our treatments are performed by our Cosmetic Physician.

    Commonly after treatment the skin may feel rough, dry and look a little red - similar to a mild sunburn. This quickly subsides.

    Very rarely, and if the skin is not cared for before and after treatment, scarring or infection may occur due to delayed healing. There can also be a risk of hyperpigmentation in darker skin types.

    To minimise the risks of complications all our laser treatments require doctor consult prior to treatment, plus pre and post-treatment skin prep.
