Or, maybe your hair just isn’t as thick or a full as it used to be. You may also be experiencing issues with hair loss around peri-menopause, post-partum hair loss, or male/female pattern hair loss (androgenic alopecia).
Hair loss treatments can be used to treat hair that has started to thin or lose quality and density, or they can be incorporated into a preventative routine to maintain a healthy, full hair and scalp.
Androgenic alopecia is the most common type of hair loss, and affects both men and women. It is genetic and follows a predictable pattern - in men we see a recession of the hair line and thinning hair at the crown. In women, we tend to see more generalised thinning and loss of hair density, and particularly a widening part in the hair.
Androgenic hair loss is largely due to the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which circulates in the blood and is derived from testosterone. In susceptible individuals DHT binds to hair follicles and causes them to shrink. The result is thinner hair, less density and shorter hair. Over time the follicle may cease to produce any hair at all - leading to complete baldness.

Medical conditions - autoimmune disease, nutrient deficiencies, scalp or skin infections

Your own natural growth factors to stimulate the hair follicle and regenerate hair growth.
Via a series of tiny microinjections, growth factors are injected into the skin where it activates stem cells that target regeneration of the hair follicle.

LED Phototherapy is non-invasive and added to our treatment protocol to enhance the benefits of other treatments.
There is some evidence to show that red-light LED can also be beneficial on it’s own for hair loss. It promotes cellular repair, improves scalp blood flow and can encourage new hair growth.
Targeted wavelengths of LED stimulate hair follicles for regrowth of new strands. It can also improve the strength and durability of hair fibres.
Healite II LED is used as an adjunct to our other treatments.

Both oral and topical preparations of medications used to prevent further hair loss and stimulate new growth are used at Dr Tranter Aesthetics.
These medications work to preserve the hair that remains, and also to block the action of DHT at the follicle to encourage hair regrowth.

Oral medication - we can prescribe you oral medications that you take at home help to prevent further hair loss and stimulate new hair growth.
Topical medication - we can prescribe a topical medication that can be applied to the scalp in the comfort of your home.
